Welcome! My name is Koby and I’m a freelance illustrator based in Austin, Texas. I focus on book illustration, TTRPG and card art, and character illustration. I have a special love for including and taking inspiration from my love of the natural world, so you’ll see plenty of specific plants and animals in my paintings.
I have mentored under art directors Suzanne Helmigh, Paul Scott Canavan, and most recently illustrator Jessica Liu to refine my skillset. I've also worked as an art instructor for 6+ years teaching art classes and camps to kids predominantly 8-12 years old. These typically include teaching the fundamentals and elements of art as well as traditional techniques, and I've been lucky enough to have many students over the years, including long-term students whom I've been able to watch grow their skills under my instruction.
When I'm not drawing or painting, I love to be outdoors looking for a spark of inspiration for my next piece! Ask me about my garden and I’ll talk your ear off about strawberry plants.
